UN.Gift in Haiti
Slavery in Haiti has existed for over 500 years. During many eras, it has provided the foundation of the economy on the island. To help raise much needed awareness about the current level of human trafficking and educate folks about the risks and ploys of traffickers in the region, The UN Committee to Stop Trafficking in Persons brought a unique UN.Gift Box to Cap Haitian, Haiti the week of June 15-19, 2015. With the help of 60 trained volunteers, over 7,798 guest visited the exhibit to learn and engage the issue of human trafficking.
