Looking Back on 10 Years of Perform For Freedom!
On April 12, The Freedom Cafe Celebrated 10 Years of PFF events. PFF launched 2 years before the Freedom Cafe was established as a non-profit. A core program of The Café, PFF brings together music, mission, & community to support a safe space to develop and remain grounded as activists and performers.
This quote has rung true for so many musicians and performers who have participated in Perform for Freedom over the years. We are grateful for the devoted community who comes together to overcome violence and exploitation with beauty and grace.
Former regular attendee and performer, Joe Poggy, UNH '18 shared,
"Going to the freedom cafe every Wednesday night during my time at UNH taught me about community. When I think back about the freedom cafe, and the mission to secure human rights for those in need, I see that it has become a part of me as a public health graduate student at Cornell."
