2019 Impact Report
Throughout 2019 we worked with 58 volunteers--who served a collective 1633 volunteer hours developing skill as advocates to end trafficking. We conducted 89 educational programs including a panel conversation on forced labor in global supply chains with leaders from Hannaford Supermarkets, Equal Exchange, Timberland and Nixon Peabody LLP. During the summer we hosted two student internships in collaboration with the Center for Social Innovation and Enterprise focused on developing tools for communicating our mission and improving our volunteer training process. You can view Alison and Conor's final presentation at shorturl.at/nFX15.
In September, our executive Director, Bryan Bessette presented on conscious consuming at TEDx Portsmouth. You can view his talk at https://youtu.be/0ywAc96JfNY.
Over four months in the fall, we hosted our first cross cultural internship, a collaboration with Kranti School in India to support the training of Ashi and Sheetal, giving them tools to develop a cafe and community space in the red light area of Mumbai that will provide job skill and economic opportunity to vulnerable individuals including survivors of human trafficking.
Overall in 2019 our programs engaged close to 6000 individuals in the mission to END Human Trafficking!
We look forward to continuing our journey with you in 2020!
Gratefully,
Bryan Bessette
