People of Freedom - Lorry
Meet Lorry, Chair of the Community Engagement Committee on our Board of Directors!
Lorry joined the Freedom Café board in October of 2021 after learning about our organization through her time in the Leadership Seacoast program with our founder Bryan. She said, "I was shocked to learn that human trafficking happens right here in NH and once I knew, I couldn’t turn my back on the issue."
Since joining the Freedom Café team, Lorry has learned a lot about our power as consumers. She explained, "Our every day purchases just at the grocery store can make an impact if we simply look for the Fair Trade Logo on products. There’s so many to choose from and if we all did just think of the impact!" She particularly loves the idea that we can help end modern slavery by simply purchasing one cup of ethically sourced coffee a day.
If you are interested in volunteering to help Lorry with Community Engagement projects, feel free email her at: lorry.lemire@thefreedomcafe.org
Favorite Freedom Café drink: Wild Maine Blueberry iced tea (or a classic pour-over)
